Tier 1 Investor Visa Extension

The following information is given in order to provide you with a generalised overview of the criteria required for the Tier 1 (Investor) extension visa. However if you wish for us to assess whether you qualify for the Tier 1 (Investor)extension visa, or you wish to engage our services and/or require further information regarding this particular application, please complete the 'Contact Box' on this page to enable a member of our team to contact you and advise you further.

An extension under the Tier 1 (Investor) category will be granted in the migrant can show that they have £1 million or more in the United Kingdom. This should consist of money invested in the UK and any further money necessary to bring the total funds to at least £1 million.

There are restrictions on the type of investment the UK Border Agency will consider as part of the qualifying sum of £1 million. This is so that money is invested in ways that helps to stimulate growth in the United Kingdom as directly as possible.

The migrant must have invested not less than £750,000 of his/her capital in the United Kingdom by way of United Kingdom Government bonds, share capital or loan capital in active and trading companies that are registered in the United Kingdom. Investment in share or loan capital in active and trading companies that are registered in the United Kingdom can include investment held in foreign currencies.

The migrant must make this investment within three months of the specified date. If this category is met the migrant will be awarded the necessary points in order to obtain an extension of stay in the UK.
