Are you currently on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn? Use them to help you in your search…

Thinking of going for a position at a specific company? Before you apply, have you followed them on LinkedIn?  Do you “like” their Facebook page? Are you following them on Twitter?  If not, why not?

Do your homework/ research on that company and if they have pages on social media then connect to them.  If you don’t, then don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them!  Companies will often check to see if anyone is “following” them who have the skills/experience that match roles they are currently recruiting for and will  sometimes meet these candidates before opening their role up to the wider market (if they then need to!)
