General Visitor Visa
The following information is given in order to provide you with a generalised overview of the criteria required for the general UK visit visa. However if you wish for us to assess whether you qualify for the general UK visit visa, or you wish to engage our services and/or require further information regarding this particular application, please complete the ‘Contact Box’ on this page to enable a member of our team to contact you and advise you further. Individuals entering the UK on a visit visa must meet the following criteria. In the event they do not, the likelihood of their application being successful would be extremely low. It should be noted even if a individual meets the criteria below, but the documentation they provide does not reflect the same then the visit visa application will have a high chance of being refused. The standard criteria an individual must meet if they wish to enter the UK under this category are: - They are 18 years of age or over;
- They wish to visit the United Kingdom for up to six months;
- They intend to leave the United Kingdom at the end of their visit;
- They have enough money to support and accommodate themselves without working or receiving assistance for UK public;
- They can meet the cost of the return or onward journey; and
- They are not in transit to a country outside the common travel area.
The individual must also show that, during their visit, they do not intend to:- Take employment, produce goods or provide services, including the selling of goods or services direct to members of the public;
- Undertake a course of study;
- Marry or form a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership;
- Carry out the activities of a business visitor, a sports visitor or an entertainer visitor; or
- receive private medical treatment.
